Studies have indicated that Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autism Spectrum Disorders(ASD) are associated with a range of behavioral and physical problems including substance use disorder, learning disability, anxiety disorders, asthma and sleep problems.
The aim of our study is to examine comorbidity patterns of ADHD and ASD across the medical phenome.
We would like to construct polygenic risk scores (PRS) of ADHD and ASD using the latest pre-publication Genome Wide Association Study (i.e., ADHD, ASD, ADHD-ASD cross-disorder)(GWAS) summary statistics from the PGC and perform a Phenome Wide Association Study (PheWAS) in the Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) Electronic Health Records (EHR) and associated biobank (BioVU).
We are also planning to run these analyses across the PsycheMERGE network (we will add some specificity when we have a better idea of the sites that would like to be involved).
