PsycheMERGE Summary Statistics Download
PsycheMERGE provides summary statistics from its genome-wide association study (GWAS) analyses (“results”) to increase our knowledge of the fundamental basis of psychiatric and other medical conditions. Use of these data is NOT unrestricted. If you download or use these results, you and your collaborators agree to complete and sign the following Terms and Conditions of Use. For publicly available data that is not listed on our website, industry users must register for non-commercial use by completing the form below before downloading any data. If you have questions about these terms, please contact the PsycheMERGE Data Access Committee at PsycheMERGE@mgh.harvard.edu.
Terms and Conditions
- I acknowledge that these results are provided on an “as-is” basis, without warranty of any type, expressed or implied, including but not limited to any warranty as to their performance, merchantability, or fitness for any particular purpose;
- I will not republish these results or make them available elsewhere – this website is the definitive source for these data. I will not share these results with anyone else, including co-authors. Each of my co-authors and collaborators (including research assistants) who require access to the results also needs to use this website to individually accept these terms of use.
- I agree to keep these results confidential and secure using standard protocols for sensitive data, e.g., password-protected computers and file systems. I will be responsible for ensuring that their use of these data is always in compliance with all local, state, national, and institutional regulations/policies regarding human subjects, genetics research, and these data – for example, these links are for the US and UK standards;
- I confirm that I will never attempt to re-identify nor contact any participants for any reason who contributed to these analyses;
- I agree that I will use these results for scientific research and educational use only.
- Any commercial or for-profit use of these results requires permission in advance from the PsycheMERGE Data Access Committee. For COMMERCIAL OR FOR-PROFIT USE, please select “Request Permission for Commercial Use” below.
- Investigators may not use these data to develop any type of risk or predictive test for an unborn individual;
- For any risk or predictive test for a child or adult, investigators must acknowledge that this is an experimental use of these data and that all psychiatric disorders have important non-genetic etiological components;
- I understand that comparisons of genetically predicted phenotype levels across ancestral groups are usually scientifically confounded due to the effects of linkage disequilibrium, gene-environment correlation, gene-environment interactions, and other methodological problems. I will abide by the principles articulated by the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) position statement: “ASHG Denounces Attempts to Link Genetics and Racial Supremacy.” (See also the International Genetic Epidemiological Society “Statement on Racism and Genetic Epidemiology”, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine “Statement on Using Population Descriptors in Genetics and Genomics Research”, and the Hastings Center report on the ethics of social and behavioral genomics)
- I will abide by the principles articulated by the ASHG with respect to “Advancing Diverse Participation in Research with Special Consideration for Vulnerable Populations”. I understand the principles articulated in the final two sections of this statement, “In the Conduct of Research with Vulnerable Populations, Researchers Must Address Concerns that Participation May Lead to Group Harm” and “The Benefits of Research Participation Are Profound, Yet the Potential Danger that Unethical Application of Genetics Might Stigmatize, Discriminate against, or Persecute Vulnerable Populations Persists.”
- I agree to cite the papers corresponding to these results in any publications, presentations or communications making use of these results.
- I agree to report any misuse or data release, intentional or inadvertent, within 5 business days of becoming aware of the same by emailing PsycheMERGE@mgh.harvard.edu.
- I certify that I am in compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws or regulations and institutional policies regarding human subjects and genetics research; and
- I agree that violating any of the Terms and Conditions may result in consequences including, but not limited to, any or all of the following:
- Contacting my institution’s institutional review board (IRB) and/or scientific integrity office
- Contacting my supervisor, department chair, dean, or similar institutional authority
- Contacting any relevant funder (governmental or private)
- Blocking the IP address I used to download data and/or blocking the public IP address associated with my institution(s)
- Contacting the editor(s) of relevant journal(s)
The document draws from and builds upon Terms and Conditions offered by the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium (PGC) and the Externalizing Consortium. We acknowledge the valuable contribution these initiatives have made to the field.
